What do you like most about the subject?

I like seeing students progress from the stage at which they imagine writing is a thing they do for me, to the point at which they are emerging masters of their own texts

How would you describe your teaching style?

I teach by asking students to make ideas and information personally meaningful.

Until a student is able to explain an idea in his or her own words, they have not learned in any real sense.
