English language preparation
If you do not meet the minimum English language requirements for your desired program at ICM, you may choose to enrol in one of the University of Manitoba's English language programs to improve your proficiency.
Academic English program
The University of Manitoba's Academic English program provides English language training for university-bound international students. Classes are held on the Fort Garry campus so you can enjoy the experience of studying English while having access to all university facilities. Program intakes are offered in January, May and September.
Upon successful completion of the appropriate course at the University of Manitoba's English Language Centre, you will be eligible to enter ICM without any further English tests, either directly into UTP Stage I, UTP Stage II or a mixed-entry program. ICM staff can assist you with the application process.
Intensive English program
The Intensive English program helps students improve their English language proficiency while learning about Canadian culture. Classes are offered on a monthly basis. From beginning to advanced level, programs are available to meet your needs. Many cultural activities are also included. Students need to complete the 500 level English program for Mixed Entry at ICM and 600 level (with 75 percent) for Direct Entry at ICM.
