Accommodation

 

As an ICM student, you will have access to a range of accommodation options to find which one best suits your needs. These include on-campus accommodation, off-campus accommodation and homestay. Students under 18 years of age must be in homestay accommodation.

The University of Manitoba residences (on-campus accommodation)

ICM students may apply to live in University of Manitoba residences at the Fort Garry campus, just a short walk from your classes. Speechly Hall, Taché Hall, University College and St Andrew's College feature:

  • furnished rooms (bed, desk, chair and bookshelf)
  • meal plans
  • lounges with TVs and DVD players
  • laundry facilities
  • microcomputer facilities

Off-campus accommodation

A wide range of off-campus accommodation, including private rentals and shared accommodation, is available to ICM students. The best places to start looking for off-campus accommodation are classified advertisements in Winnipeg newspapers, including the Winnipeg Free Press and the Winnipeg Sun, or online at homes4students.ca or rentingspaces.ca.

Homestay

For many students, the opportunity to stay with a Canadian family in the local community offers special appeal. As a homestay student, you will have the chance to be a part of the family, taking part in family activities and celebrating special occasions.

All homestay families live within commuting distance of the University of Manitoba. Homestay includes three meals per day, a bedroom, internet access and local phone calls.
